Alabama Math and Science Teacher Education Program

(AMSTEP)

AVAILABLE ONLY AFTER YOU GRADUATE

AMSTEP is a loan reimbursement program for teaching in the areas math, science or

computer science in eligible Alabama schools within the state of Alabama.

• A federal student loan repayment program

• Designed to encourage individuals to complete programs leading to Alabama

certification in mathematics, science or computer science

• Encourages those who complete the program to accept math, science or computer

science teaching positions in Alabama public schools where there is a shortage of

math, science or computer science teachers

• Only available to teachers who graduated Spring Term 2018 and forward
