Police Officer’s and Firefighter’s Survivors

Educational Assistance Program

(POFSEAP)

Provides assistance to dependents under the age of 21 and spouses who have not

remarried within five years of the line of duty, death or total disability of the officer or

firefighter.

• A grant covering:

• Tuition, fees, books and supplies for

• Eligible dependents and spouses of Alabama police officers,

firefighters and rescue squad members killed in the line of duty

• There is no limit on the amount awarded to recipients

• Awards are available for only undergraduate study at public institutions in

Alabama

• Other special eligibility criteria apply
