Calhoun Community College (CAL), located within Cummings Research Park, holds the distinction of being Alabama's largest community college. Alongside its size, Calhoun is proud to accommodate approximately 2,000 high school students in its Dual Enrollment Program. The college provides a wide array of over 100 career paths to choose from, and it takes pride in having 11 nationally accredited programs. The Student Right to Know Act was passed by the 2023 Alabama Legislature. This Act commissioned ACHE to create the HORIZON Student Database as an interactive resource for students and parents focusing on costs, degree programs, and student success at Alabama’s colleges and universities.

College Navigator is an online tool designed to help students, parents, and other consumers evaluate colleges and universities.  The site includes institutional data on academic programs offered, retention and graduation rates, tuition and fees, financial aid, degrees awarded, campus safety, and accreditation.

Institutional profiles are compiled to provide a comprehensive overview of Alabama’s participating higher education institutions. They play a crucial role in facilitating comparisons between different educational entities and supporting evidence-based decision-making in the field of higher education.
