Workforce Alignment

Responsibilities

The Office of Workforce Alignment is responsible for providing various data and analytic metrics to inform strategic policy related to the alignment of Alabama’s educational resources with workforce needs. The data provisions include understanding the differences across the state’s seven workforce regions and expanding place-based strategies to serve the education and workforce needs of Alabama’s communities.

Responsibilities of the office are as follows:

  • Develop Regional Workforce Profiles to highlight and compare the state’s seven workforce regions that includes educational attainment and workforce characteristics for prime working age adults (25 to 64),
  • Develop an Employment Outcomes Report that matches public college and university graduation data with state workforce data to determine retention and income metrics for Alabama graduates, and
  • Contribute to the agency’s All in Alabama initiative to help identify and prioritize primary focus areas.
  • Illustrate regional differences of certain measures across the state’s seven workforce regions, highlighting the need for region-specific solutions to help Alabama become a more economically competitive and healthier state via the ACHE Education and Workforce Dashboard.
